As you may have guessed from reading my other posts recently, I love Autumn.
As much as I love the hint of chill in the air and the call to appreciate hibernation, it sometimes can lead to a decline in productivity.
That call to rest is strong these days.
All the hygge possibilities are calling my name...
But Andrea, you still have a business to run.
Whether you are a business owner or an employee or are looking for work or are independently wealthy, there is still a need to show up to our lives and our jobs.
But I want to stay buried in my delightfully warm comforter...
The resistance is stronger this time of year, but we still need to move forward with our chosen life pieces - work, family, friends.
How do we crawl out of bed when all we want to do is curl up?
Let's make this easier on all of us.
I offer you three actions to get you started!
1. The Band-aid Rip.
One... two... (rip)... three!
Up and at 'em!
You've got this.
There. That wasn't so bad was it?
If that isn't your style (it isn't mine either), try this next suggestion.
2. The Unfurl.
One eye open...
Two eyes open...
Test all the parts to see if they respond...
A ritual of kind and calm and cosy to ease you into your day.
But be mindful of this actually progressing into work mode!
It might involve a combination of The Unfurl and The Band-aid Rip after all.
How will you know when this is working?
What does ready look and feel like?
If getting stuck is a regular occurrence in your world, draw what ready looks like.
Label that and make the pictures match.
It sounds simple, but this will help your brain figure its pieces out.
3. The Party Trick.
Pretend the fog is part of the show - who doesn't love a good fog machine?
Put on some awesome music and find your second wind!
(no matter if your first wind was yesterday!)
Remind your body that when you are out with friends, you can find that energy burst to keep partying, and harness that energy!
You've got this!
Welcome to the party!
